Young Guns On Fire!

The Bunbury Junior Football Club continued to grow in leaps and bound in season 2016 capped off with the Year 11 team winning a great Grand Final victory under lights at Hands Oval. In a highly skilled and fast paced game between themselves and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault the lads got up by 3 goals with Eli Hill taking out the best on ground award.

In other grades the Year 9 went down by 3 pts in the A division Grand Final while the Year 10s played A division finals bowing out in the elimination final by 2 points. All of this places the club in a great position with some fantastic boys coming to the senior club in the next few years.

The junior club operated extremely effectively throughout 2016 fielding teams in all grades with more than 200 players registered plus supporting the extra 120 children that registered for Auskick.

Some outstanding individual efforts during the season included Eli Hill taking out the F&B in Year 11 Association while Che Hill claimed the F&B in the Year 9 Association.

Two former juniors who continued to do the club proud were Connor Blakely who continues to excel and grow in his AFL career, and Aiden Clarke who played State Under 18s and made his League Debut for Swan Districts.

The senior Board would like to acknowledged for the outstanding work of the Junior Committee over a long period that is the cornerstone on which our league team is now being built
